Highworth Pre-School Management Committee
Our Management Committee 2019-2020 is:
Kelly Preston, Lisa Mitchell, Natalie Baldwin, Jenny Davidson, Claire Sweter-Millar,
Amelia Mackenzie, Samantha Critchlow, Nicola Hollingsworth, Victoria Edmonds, Paul Barras, Helen Morgan, Lara Barnes and Tracy Hall.
A parent Management Committee - whose members are elected by the parents of the children who attend the pre-school - manages Highworth Pre-School. The elections take place at the pre-school's Annual General Meeting which is held each year.
The committee is responsible for:
assisting in the management of the pre-school's finances;
employing and managing the staff;
making sure that the pre-school has - and works to - policies which help it to provide a high quality service;
making sure that the pre-school works in partnership with the children's parents.
The Annual General Meeting is open to the parents of all of the children who attend the pre-school and a creche is also offered to help with childcare during the meeting. It is our forum for looking back over the previous year's activities and shaping the coming year's activities.
We appreciate that parents who volunteer for the committee are giving up valuable personal time and it is important that they feel that this time is being put to good use. The committee schedule is usually 1 meeting every term and these run for approximately 2 hours. You don't need any special skills or knowledge, the pre-school and the committee members need to work together to ensure the successful future of Highworth Pre-School and as such these meetings are more of an update and to gather opinions and decisions when required.
We work hard to ensure that all committee members are kept fully up to date so that even if you are unable to attend all meetings you are able to give an informed opinion on all matters as they arrive. We have a document “Volunteer for your Pre-School Committee” which will give you more of an insight into the role you may be able to play as a committee member and also have current members that would be more than happy to discuss the role of the committee with you.
Everyone’s opinion is valued and respected, so if you feel that you would like to be involved in the future of Highworth Pre-School please take some time to look into this further.
Unfortunately we can only operate as a pre-school with a full management committee in place, so your support is vital or do you know someone that may be interested?
Do feel free to arrange to drop into the pre-school, if you would like to see it at work and to speak with the staff.
